Author's E2K: January 2004
Welcome to the January 2004 issue of Net Author's E2K! January kicks off the new year with an tidy mix of writing that will more than fill the gap created by our down time of December, but it also comes with a few announcements and format changes. We are, effective immediately, moving to a quarterly format and you'll find that announcement on our publisher's editorial page. As part of that format change, we're going to impose a moratorium on poetry submissions for the next six months. We've been fortunate to receive some truly excellent poetry and have managed to acquire roughly a year's worth of poems. Rather than delay publication for any new submissions, we're going to give ourselves a chance to work through those that are pending print. We'll announce the reopening of poetry submissions in the issue prior to that date. We are still accepting fiction, writing-related nonfiction, and creative nonfiction, however, so don't hesitate to submit. Given our staff limitations at the moment, however, return time may be a bit longer than usual. In this issue, you'll find poetry by Anuradha Rao and Neva Kares Talladen, and a thought-provoking short fiction by Debbra Mikaelsen. Staff writer Magdalena Ball returns with her regular review column, "Honing the Craft," and Patrick Riley tries to set a small fire under those closet writers who've not yet gathered courage enough to submit their work . . . a fire we hope won't backflash.
Editor's Note: If you're an AOL user and are considering submitting material to us, please be sure to read the note for AOL users at the bottom of the Submission Guide.
