No one can say that Wayne Perkins lacks enthusiasm! He is an e-book marketing consultant, author, certified hypnotherapist, and stage hypnotist, living in Phoenix, Arizona.
By the time I finished this e-book, I truly believed that with story in hand, even I could have an e-book published in no time at all! Perkins takes you through the process of electronically publishing and marketing your e-book. Following his step-by-step instructions, you can have your e-book published and online at the bookseller, Mightywords <http://www.mightywords.com>, by the end of the day!
His self-marketing techniques require the author to be disciplined and dedicated, working three hours a day, five days a week. Throughout the book, Perkins shows comparisons between publishing online, where the writer is self-promoting and marketing, vs. the traditional means of getting published, where the writer must submit work and wait for an editor to accept or decline. He clearly lists his marketing techniques for e-publishing and what the writer must do every day. He shares several resources for drawing traffic to your website, how to process credit cards and how to setup affiliate programs with such booksellers as Barnes and Nobles and Amazon and, for a fee, Mr. Perkins is available for consultation.
A good example of his comparison of e-publishing vs. print publishing is that the author can make additional chapters available at any time, and that’s not something which can be done with print publications without incurring great expense. He also discusses cutting out the need for a publicist and agent, showing ways the writer can do these jobs and retain a higher profit from the sales of their work.
Below are a few chapters from A Cheap and Easy Guide to Self-Publishing E-books:
1. What is an E-book and Why Should I Publish One?
2. What Do I Gain By Publishing E-books?
3. How to Publish Your E-book in Just One Day
4. Marketing Your First E-book With No Budget
5. E-book Marketing Resources
This book is in Rocket e-book format. I would like to see his links from chapter to chapter-made more "user friendly." The links from chapter to chapter on this Rocket Edition lack continuity. Most e-books move easily with the press of a button to the next page, regardless if it is a page within a chapter or continuing on to the next chapter. This e-book, however, was a bit cumbersome. At the end of each chapter, I needed to select the link on the screen with my stylus to get to the next chapter. Nevertheless, the book is still well worth the read, even with this minor flaw, it’s packed with useful information for any writer wanting to try a hand at publishing online.
I highly recommend this e-book for any writer who is serious about the craft of writing and willing to put in the time in and follow his steps. Perkins states, "My mission in life is to help you achieve your mission in life." I believe he means it!
